Solution to Alcoholism
Concerning
the perils of alcoholism I just wanted to say there is freedom, and there is
certainly hope; the setting free of those who are bound. Today there are many people attempting to
show the way to freedom from this peril, but there is only one sure way to put
the ax to the root. Many of the
alternative methods in recovery leave the stump of the tree and do not actually
deal with the root cause. This is a
shame and not the way God desires. This
following Scripture explains it all.
Proverbs 13:12, “Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a desire
fulfilled is a tree of life.” Hope here
means expectation and deferred means removed.
So this Scripture would literally mean, “Expectation removed makes the
heart sick.” For me and the addictions I
once suffered from this Scripture says
that if I place my expectations in people, places, or things that can at some
point fail then I too will fail, but if I set my expectation on the One Christ
Jesus who cannot fail then I will triumph.
It is all too simple really, difficult at times, but still simple. One must certainly persevere under the tests and
trials; if done standing on the Rock, Jesus Christ one will not be put to
shame. Dare to believe God and you shall
be free.
Hear what the group “Most
Excellent Way” has to say on the subject.
“Since 1986, "The Most Excellent Way" has made its primary
goal to declare the power that God makes available to a person to overcome
addictions through the Cross. We had
become slaves to our addiction, but the Bible holds out this great
promise: that through Christ we can be
made free.” Jesus promised: "Therefore if the Son makes you free,
you shall be free indeed" ~John 8:36.
